THE CHALLENGE

A few months before Nobel Perspectives Live! we, together with the creative agency Zoo Agency, conducted a series of vox pops with Bocconi University students on the streets of Milan to better understand the sentiments and opinions of the younger generation on global economics in today's fast-changing world.

This valuable video footage was then seamlessly integrated into a captivating sizzle reel that featured highlights from the event, including keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interviews. The sizzle reel also included behind-the-scenes clips and glimpses of the audience's reactions to the various presentations.

By including the vox pops in the sizzle reel, ORBIS and Zoo Agency provided a fresh perspective on the discussions that took place at Nobel Perspectives Live!, making the content more relevant and engaging for viewers. Furthermore, the incorporation of the younger generation's thoughts and sentiments on global economics helped to provide context and relevance to the overall theme of the event.

The preparation of the venue began two weeks before the event. The ORBIS team supervised the preparation of the decorations, stage, furniture, and also took care of branding design. In addition to that, a technical rehearsal as well as two test streaming live events were conducted.

A few days before the event, our technical and creative teams installed filming equipment, conducted tests, and set-designed the rooms at Palazzo Parigi for a series of interviews and panel discussions with Nobel Laureates and UBS representatives:

Paul Donovan - Global Chief Economist for the Swiss financial services firm UBS Wealth Management;
Matteo Ramenghi - Chief Investment Officer UBS WM Italy;
Michael Kremer - an American economist who was jointly awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2019;
Michael Spence - an American economist who was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2001;
Jean Tyrole - a French economist who was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2014.

Along with filming the panel discussions at the Palazzo, our other teams were completing the installation of lighting, live-streaming cameras, sound systems, and conducting final tests at Bocconi University's Great Hall, where the main event was to be held the next day.

Live-streaming company in Italy

On the day of the live stream, there was a special media event where Bengt Holmström
(a Finnish economist who was awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2016) spoke via video link from the USA and answered questions posed by Italian journalists. Our teams provided uninterrupted broadcasting on large screens and simultaneous interpretation.

The doors to the main event opened at 5:30 p.m. and the hall filled with students and special guests. The event was hosted by Marsha Askins (Head of Communications & Branding).

During the event, Nobel Laureates shared unique insights and there was a Q&A session. It was broadcast worldwide via the UBS platform and social media.
